21 636320 45075477 I had been looking forward to this title for some time, however in its current state I just cannot recommend purchasing it. Though the concept of a game which takes the replay value of FTL and combines it with the tactical turn-based combat of X-COM sounds truly amazing, Depth of Extinction sadly fails to do this. What we are left with instead is a tedious slog through repetative encounters to reach an objective that we don't really care about. I often found myself going out of my way just to avoid the combat encounters simply because they are just so boring. Despite this fairly negative review it must be taken into account that indie developers are of course on a much tighter budget, and with that in mind I will hold on to the hope that future updates will perhaps add a bit more variety to the game, primarily the combat, which I feel needs to flow much more, rather than each encounter being a series of small rooms with a mere 2-3 enemies per room to clear out. 2021-03-14T05:51:55.442370 1 1
