98 | 232430 | 72616039 | Okay... 2 hours of my life: wasted. I honestly don't understand how this walking simulator got so many positive reviews. Right from the beginning, the game establishes a scenario in which the player is fooled into believing he is about to uncover a huge mystery or even a conspiracy. But what you get is one cliched pubescent self-discovery phase that tries to be in some way deep by adding a level of old-fashioned social taboo within its story that can be told in 3 sentences. And that is the biggest shortcoming in this game, because you never get to solve ANY of the mystery. I mean your whole family just vanished from the face of the earth, and the only thing you care about is the person you had a crush on when you where in highschool? Well that makes sense, so let's search the house for old souvenirs that had been collected by yourself when you where a rebellious brat back in the days, only to be constantly reminded along the way that you are looting your parents house who are still MISSING! Anyway, maybe I should rather keep on searching for crumpled doodles from my childhood instead of trying to find my family. I mean they could be kidnapped or even murdered, but the game dictates that it is more important that you howl after your ex-girlfriend. But if you think that at this point there are enough resources to take away the credibility of this game, you are wrong: For another reason, that you will also never know why, there are secret passages and rooms to be found that you don“t know about even though you are playing a charakter that obviously lived in this place before. There is no logic to it, when you uncover a secret room, only to find evidence of your younger self having been there before or even used those places as private playgrounds... Apparently, most players don't question such fundamental things. This game also has no philosophical or socially critical value and there are just too many inconsistencies for me to take it seriously. | 2021-03-14T05:52:11.399114 | 1 | 1 |
